The Municipality of Nueva Valencia, led by Municipal Mayor Atty. Paul Vincent G. de la Cruz, was honored to receive a Plaque of Appreciation from the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI during its First Appreciation Night dubbed as “Pagdayaw 2023”. Nueva Valencia was recognized for being one of the Top Contributing Municipalities in Tourist Arrivals (Overnight-Stay Tourists) and Same-Day Visitor Arrivals Report in Western Visayas for CY 2022 and for having invaluable support extended for the Department of Tourism Region VI in the development and recovery efforts of Western Visayas tourism industry. Moreover, Raymen Beach Resort and Alobijod Cove Resort were also awarded for being one of the Top Contributing DOT-Accredited Accommodation Establishments in Tourist Arrivals (Overnight-Stay Tourists) Report in Guimaras for CY 2022.

The award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the people of Nueva Valencia in promoting tourism in the municipality. The award also recognizes the efforts of the local government in providing support to the tourism industry.
