The steer in gold color and with 22 helms represents the 22 Barangays of the Municipality, 15 of which are coastal and 5 are in mainland and 2 are island Barangays.

MUNICIPALITY OF NUEVA VALENCIA and PROVINCE OF GUIMARAS IN GREEN LETTERS

The green text is to emphasize that the Municipality of Nueva Valencia as the Tourism Capital of the Province of Guimaras is an advocate of “green living” by adopting programs and policies that will protect and preserve a sustainable and ecologically balanced environment.

CIRCULAR KNOT

The knot in a circular shape enclosing the central core symbolize the unity and oneness of the people of Nueva Valencia in achieving its mission, vision and goals.

FISHERFOLK and FARMER FIGURE

Represents fishing and farming as the major sector and livelihood of the municipality. Nueva Valencia has a total land area of 13.712 hectares and many of its residents rely on farming as a source of livelihood. In addition, Nueva Valencia has a municipal water covering 97,693,4264 hectares and the coastline of 102,234.933 meters , thereby making it as the largest fishing ground of the province

MANGO

The Province of Guimaras to include Nueva Valencia is known to be the home of the sweetest and centennial mango trees.

RICH MARINE PRODUCTS

Nueva Valencia is a source of marine products most specially the source of lobster or “banagan”’ a high valued crustaceans and “imbao” the exotic sweet tasting bivalve endemic in Nueva Valencia.

GUISI LIGHT HOUSE

The second oldest lighthouse in the Philippines was built by the Spanish Government in 1896 as part of the master plan for the lighting of the marine coast of the Philippines Archipelago. This lighthouse form parts of the heritage of nueva Valencia.

FARMLAND

The total area devoted to agriculture is 12,855.9595 hectares. The main agriculture product are rice, mango, corn, cashew, banana and coconut.

Nueva Valencia known to be place of pristine beaches, peaceful countryside, green sceneries and friendly people. It is very tourist dream destination and it is a hide away from hassle and bustle of city life.

1941

The 1941 at the central core represent the year in which the Municipality of Nueva Valencia has been declared as a full-fledged municipality by the virtue of Executive Order No. 296 signed by then President Manuel L. Quezon. Since then, Nueva Valencia has established its own seat of Government and has enjoyed its full local Municipal autonomy.
