The Tourism Office of Nueva Valencia conducted a Community-Based Tourism Awareness and Appreciation Campaign on September 19, 2023 at the RHU Conference Hall. The event was attended by members of the Nueva Valencia Tourism Heritage Culture and Arts Council (NVTHCAC). The resource speaker was Ms. Angeles E. Gabinete, a DOT Accredited Trainor.

Ms. Gabinete discussed the following topics:

• Nueva Valencia’s Accolades and Accomplishments for the past years
• DILG Memo Circular No. 2002-81 entitled “Creation of Local Culture and Arts Council”, its roles and responsibilities
• The 7M’s of Filipino Values and Service Excellence
• Understanding and Engaging the Customer using the GUEST Technique
• How to handle guest complaints through the “HEART” Method

The event was well-received by the participants. They learned a lot about tourism and how to promote it in their community. They also gained valuable insights on how to provide excellent customer service.
