In celebration of Tourism Month 2024, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nueva Valencia, through the Municipal Tourism Office and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), successfully hosted the “Pambansang Museo sa Barangay” on September 24, 2024. This activity was made possible in collaboration with the National Museum of the Philippines-Iloilo, bringing the rich cultural heritage of the country to the community.
As part of the program, the children engaged in hands-on activities such as botanical printing, where they imprinted flowers and leaves onto canvases, and rock art, where they expressed their creativity by painting depictions of local flora and fauna. These interactive sessions, along with various fun games, made the learning experience both enjoyable and educational for the young participants.
The activity successfully combined cultural education with creativity, fostering a deeper connection between the students and their local heritage while also emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation.
