The country records the highest number of new confirmed cases in a single day since the pandemic began as the Department of Health logs 8,019 new cases of COVID-19 on March 22, 2021.

Of the total recorded cases, 80,970 remain active where 95.4 percent have mild symptoms, 2.2 percent are asymptomatic, 0.9 percent are in critical condition, 1 percent are severe, and 0.52 percent are in moderate condition.

The number of recoveries rose to 577,850 while 12,972 have died.
